Christmas Tuna and Catnip Treats for Cats

One week after the elf’s visit, snow was gently falling on the village, covering the houses in a magical calm. Inside, Whiskers watched Buddy with an intense, curious gaze, as if she somehow knew that a touch of magic awaited her as well. Her large golden eyes followed Buddy with each step, intrigued by the biscuits Pipin had crafted for him. She, too, dreamed of receiving a surprise from the little elf.
That evening, as the fire crackled in the fireplace, a soft melody suddenly filled the house, seeming to come from another world. Emily and Jack, playing in the living room, paused, their ears perking up. Then, in a golden burst of light, Pipin the elf reappeared, holding a small music box that played an enchanting tune.
“Good evening, my friends!” Pipin said with a mischievous smile. “Tonight, it’s Whiskers’ turn to get her Christmas treats. She deserves a little magic, too.”
Whiskers’ eyes sparkled with excitement, and she quietly approached, fascinated by the little box that emitted entrancing notes. Pipin set the box on the kitchen table and motioned for the children to follow. “Let’s go to the kitchen! For these treats, we’ll need 100 grams of canned tuna, one egg, 100 grams of chickpea flour, and a teaspoon of catnip.”
Emily opened the cupboard, searching for the flour, while Jack grabbed the can of tuna. Whiskers sat elegantly near the counter, watching each movement as if supervising this recipe made especially for her. With a wink, Pipin opened the lid of the music box, releasing a light cloud of stardust that filled the kitchen.
“Mix everything together well,” Pipin instructed, guiding the children. “The chickpea flour will give the treats a soft texture, perfect for a queen like Whiskers. As for the catnip, it will add a special feline magic.”
The children began mixing the dough with care, adding each ingredient while Whiskers watched closely. The dough became slightly sticky, and a soft aroma of tuna filled the air, drawing Whiskers even closer, her whiskers twitching in anticipation.
Pipin handed the children a small silver spoon adorned with leaf and flower patterns. “Now, form small balls, like pearls, and place them on this baking tray. These tuna pearls are precious for cats.” Emily and Jack carefully shaped the little balls, focused, while Pipin hummed softly, adding a fairy melody that seemed to imbue each treat with a magical sparkle.
“Bake them at 180°C for 10 to 12 minutes,” Pipin said, adjusting the oven temperature himself, as if a secret magic was at play. While the treats were baking, Whiskers, eager, stared at the oven with her sparkling eyes, as if mesmerized by the thought of these treats made especially for her.
When the treats were ready and cooled enough, Pipin handed one to Emily to offer to Whiskers. She sniffed it cautiously, then, after a careful moment, savored the treat with a deep purr of satisfaction. Each bite seemed to awaken in her a pure joy, as if these treats were far more than just a snack.
Pipin whispered to the children, “These treats will strengthen the magical bond you have with Whiskers. She’ll feel your love with each bite.” Then, with a wink at Whiskers, he added, “Next week, I’ll come back with a surprise for both Buddy and Whiskers. Christmas is a time for sharing, even for our four-legged friends.”
In a soft golden flash, Pipin disappeared once more, leaving the Taylor family filled with happiness and excitement for the next adventure. As for Whiskers, she fell asleep peacefully, dreamy and content, her heart wrapped in the magic of Christmas.
